TEDx Speaker. Award-Winning Social Justice Advocate. Trauma-Informed Educator. Movement Specialist & Strength Coach. Author. Performer.
Candace works at the gap between what we say we believe and how we actually move through the world. Her work — across strength, pleasure, healing, and trauma — is built to interrogate those blindspots, and give audiences something real to do about them.
Candace "Coach Felyne" Liger is a trauma informed educator, somatic coach, consent framework developer, and TEDx speaker based in Houston, Texas. She is the creator of TICK — Trauma Informed Consensual Kink and Director of Trauma Informed Weight Lifting (TIWL).
Her work spans nonprofit education, leadership development, spoken word, health & wellness, pleasure, and intersectionality. She has spoken at NYU, AASECT, Woodhull Foundation for Freedom, Boston Trauma Conference, Facing Race, and beyond.
Your audience is ready for a consent conversation that goes beyond policy — one that accounts for trauma, power, and the body
You need CE-eligible training that holds clinical rigor and lived experience in the same room
Your DV/SA, harm reduction, or advocacy work needs a speaker who has done that work on the ground, not just in theory
Your wellness or fitness program is ready to move on purpose, interrogate what it demands from the body, and what a decolonized fitness approach actually looks like in practice
Your trauma-informed programming needs a speaker who works at the intersection of somatic practice, consent, strength, and pleasure
The room needs someone who will name the blindspots, not perform around them
Overview
Body Autonomy & Proactive Self Care Exploring the body as a site of political, spiritual, and personal sovereignty — across wellness, movement, and justice work.
Pleasure as Framework How centering pleasure — not just the absence of harm — changes the way we approach healing, consent, and community care.
TICK: Trauma Informed Consensual Kink A consent framework inclusive of the Black experience in BDSM and kink spaces — built at the intersection of pleasure, safety, consent, and trauma.
Strength Training as a Healing Modality The case for trauma informed weight lifting — why the weight room can be a site of healing, decolonial approaches to fitness, and what practitioners need to know to hold that space.
Black Feminism, Embodiment & Erotic Knowledge Drawing on Black feminist theory and somatic practice to examine how Black women and femmes navigate body, desire, and power.
When the System Is the Harm: Case Studies in DV/SA Advocacy Using the cases of Daniel Holtzclaw and T.Hall as entry points, this talk examines how power, race, and institutional failure shape who gets believed, who gets protected, and who gets punished.
